Chasing a target of 132, Afghanistan lost Usman Ghani early to Zaman Khan. But Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran added a slow but steady 56-run partnership to take the game away from Pakistan. In the end, it was Naseem Shah’s 19th over that blew way Pakistan’s chances. With Najibullah and Mohd Nabi hitting two sixes off Naseem in the 19th over, they amassed 17 runs from that over.
In the end, Zaman Khan had to defend 5 runs off the last over. Although he impressed with the ball, he could not do the impossible. Naijibullah struck Zaman for a 4 on the penultimate delivery to lead Afghanistan to a famous victory.
Earlier, Imad Wasim slammed an unbeaten 64 off 57 balls to help Pakistan post 130 in the second T20I on Sunday, 26th March. Afghanistan are eyeing a historic series win against Pakistan.
