Opener Shubman Gill was in hot form, clobbering an unbeaten knock of 126 runs off 63 balls, packed with 12 fours and seven sixes as India posted 234 for four in 20 overs, setting a target of 235 runs.
Chasing the target, New Zealand were bowled out for 66 in 12.1 overs, courtesy of a four-wicket haul by captain Hardik Pandya.
Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi bagged two-wicket hauls.
